Modular Single to Three-Phase Converter 

Module MT and MF

Modules MT and MF convert single phase 415V into three-phase 415V.

MT4 for up to 4kW, MT8 for up to 8kW and MF12 for up to 12kW.

Digitally controlled thyristors keep output voltages balanced.

Groups of capacitors are switched in and out at zero crossing moments.

This keeps output voltages balanced when the load changes.

No transformer is needed where 415V two phase power is available,.

In locations where supply is 240V single phase or 480V dual phase

an auto transformer is required to convert to 415V single phase:

MT4:      4.1kg  4.5kVA transformer input 240V, output 415V single phase                

MT8:      4.9kg   9kVA transformer input 240V or 480V, output 415V single phase

MF12:    9.2kg 14kVA transformer input 240V or 480V, output 415V single phase

Machines and motors don’t need to be modified. 

Machines can have contactors, control electronics, digital indicators and inverters (CNC, welder, plasma equipment, variable frequency drive VFD).

Use a high efficiency 2-pole idler motor. We recommend foot mount, aluminium frame, German bearings:

MT8:     7,5kW motor (10hp)

MF12:    11kW motor (15hp)

Tip: Have transformer and motor inside a safe sheet metal enclosure. Make sure the motor can breathe air for cooling. Have air exit vents for heated air. Install motor on soft rubber mounts for quiet operation.
